How it works

    You can apply for consideration.

    Anyone can put a business forward. Applying costs nothing and does not move you closer to a recommendation — it puts you in front of the people who research.

  2. 02

    Recommendation cannot be purchased.

    There is no price, no package and no tier that includes it. If someone offers you one, it is not us.

  3. 03

    Approved businesses can buy advertising.

    Sponsored placements, profile enhancements and newsletter sponsorship are sold separately from editorial work.

  4. 04

    Sponsorship is clearly identified.

    Paid placements appear in their own labelled sections, in blue, with an explicit statement that money bought the visibility and nothing else.

  5. 05

    Advertising never changes editorial status.

    It cannot create a recommendation, protect one, or restore one that has been withdrawn. When revenue and reader trust conflict, we protect trust.

Editorial

Decided by research and firsthand checks. Reviewed on a schedule and withdrawn when it no longer holds. Not for sale at any price.

Commercial

Bought, labelled and separated. Buys attention in clearly marked places. Buys nothing else, in either direction.

There are no gold, silver or preferred tiers here, and there never will be — a paid tier that sounds like a quality rating is exactly the thing this site exists to replace.
